2.4 million copies of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade sold within the first 24 hours after launch day.
Wow! Seriously.
Going down in the record books, The Burning Crusade has broken day-one sales records to become the fastest-selling PC game ever in North America and Europe. The game was simultaneously released in North America, Europe, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia on January 16th, and Janurary 17th in Australia and New Zealand.
Blizzard supplied retailers with 4 million copies of The Burning Crusade, and by the end of the launch day, more than 1.7 million accounts had been updated to play the expansion pack.
