The adventure is far from over, apparently.
Bethesda Softworks has finally given an early look at its expansion plans for the critically lauded and swiftly selling role-playing epic, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and it features a whole lot more than cheesy overpriced horse armor.
The Shivering Isles, newly accessible via a tear in reality in the Nibben Bay, are lorded over by a Daedric Prince by the name of Sheogorath. Players will have to match wits with this frightening entity in a variety of branching missions. As described in PC Zone magazine, the long-rumored expansion will serve up over thirty hours of new territory, quests, and beasties, with land that "you can watch change according to your vital life-or-death decisions."
It sounds promising, but the release is currently scheduled to hit no earlier than the second quarter of 2007, and no retailers are offering pre-orders just yet. Still, this should give Oblivion junkies something to celebrate when they finish chomping through the already insane amount of stuff to do in their adopted fantasy home.
Don't expect the Shivering Isles to offer anything quite this idyllic.
