Superman Returns and Defender hit the Xbox Live Marketplace

Though the demo clocks in at a whopping 905 MB, Gold members of Microsoft's Xbox Live service now can now download a demo for the Xbox 360 title. Silver members will have to wait to take control of the son of Jor-El until November 22. Originally slated for release alongside Bryan Singer's feature film, the full game is expected to hit retail on November 20th.

Meanwhile, the anticipated port of Midway's classic Defender is now available to all. Though old-schoolers can play with the original's minimalist arcade graphics and oddball controls, enhanced graphics bring the elderly title into the 21st century, and rescuing humans from alien invaders with the revamped analog controls feels more natural than it ever did in the arcade. Play with or against a friend, on or off Xbox Live, for 400 Microsoft points. (That equates to a five-spot, folks.)
