Microsoft Designing Xbox 3 CPU Internally

Microsoft and Intel have been like two peas in a pod, but as the computing era rapidly advances and evolves, Microsoft is looking internally to develop the CPU for the Xbox 3.
No more outsourcing for Microsoft, Xbox 3 will be entirely in-house
In an article from The New York Times, Charles P. Thacker, a Microsoft engineer who will lead the project, said Microsoft needs to get a jump on the future to take full advantage of the next Xbox.
Thacker explains the possibilities voice recognition will play in the future. "Voice is big," said Thacker, "you can throw as much technology at it as you want to."
The process is beginning now because of new tools that have recently become available that allow engineers to quickly and effectively explore hardware designs and testing said Thacker.
