Announced at last weekend's annual GameStop video game conference, The Dallas Morning News was invited for some hands-on time with the next-gen platform and was able to confirm the news.

Although you'll be able to play the Wii at GameStop retail outlets, preorders are still up the air, both for the Wii and PlayStation 3. "We did learn a lesson last year," said Steve Morgan, president of GameStop, adding that "the lesson is caution and optimism at the same time." Therefore, there is still no update on whether there will or will not be preorders.

The Nintendo Wii is scheduled to launch November 19th, just two days behind the PS3.
