Breaking: Oblivion Coming to PS3, PSP

Bethesda Softworks has dropped an inevitable piece of news -- their hit Xbox 360 and PC action-RPG, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, is coming to the PlayStation 3 as a launch title.

Check out Xbox 360 screens of Oblivion here.

The game will also come to the PSP in early Spring as The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion.

Bethesda Softworks will serve as the exclusive publisher of the game, a key change in that Prey publisher 2K Games served as co-publisher of the Xbox 360 version last spring.

Bethesda has released virtually no information on the PS3 or PSP versions of the game, but word is that the PS3 version will contain an all-new faction: the Knights of the Nine. The goal of players for this faction will be to become a "Divine Crusader."

The PSP version will be similar in function, but is expected to take place in a different setting and feature some unique gameplay tweaks, possibly in an effort to better meet the needs of the PSP's control scheme.

No word yet on PSP to PS3 interoperability, but we'll keep you posted.
