At this year's Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft has announced the release of the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player for Japan. The add-on external drive will be available November 17 for ?19,800.

That's approximately $170 US, which packaged with the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote and the recent development that the Xbox 360 can display 1080p resolution is not a bad deal.
When asked about an internal HD DVD Player for the Xbox 360, Shane Kim, VP of Microsoft Games Studios, clarified with Engadget that it is not on the schedule.
