In a revealing interview with GamesIndustry.biz, the COO of Blizzard confirms that the company plans to release a new expansion for the smash-hit online game every year.

Paul Sams, the chief operating officer of Blizzard, has made a statement that is sure to overjoy millions of World of Warcraft players across the globe: that the company plans to release a new WoW expansion every single year.

The interview also gives a bit more insight into some lingering questions that surround The Burning Crusade, the first official expansion pack for WoW. On the topic of a ship date, which Blizzard has yet to officially finalize, Sams says that the company is "very confident" about the game shipping by "winter."
