Ubisoft's Q1 revenue soared by 62 percent on the strong sales from Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and Heroes of Might & Magic V, the company announced today.

The Paris-based publisher also revealed that its US sales were particularly strong, driving some 49 percent of the total revenue alone (compared to 31 percent last year). Ubisoft attributed this to particularly robust sales of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (nearly 600,000 Xbox 360 and PC copies sold) and surprisingly solid sales for Heroes of Might & Magic V (350,000 units sold).
Paris-based publisher Vivendi also reported robust Q2 financials today with a 4.8 percent boost in revenue, a figure which beat analyst expectations. Vivendi's income boost was attributed mainly to a nearly 30 percent surge in its games division, which racked up big sales thanks to World of Warcraft and 50 Cent: Bulletproof.
