A batch of controversial new ads, released in Holland, show off Sony's new white PSP model with the tagline "White Is Coming." But the ads are leading some commentators to accuse the company of spreading a racist message, a claim Sony disputes.

The ads show a white-clad Caucasian woman aggressively squaring off with an African-American individual. The ads, shown on Dutch billboards, were also displayed on the Dutch PSP website but have since been pulled.

Following claims that the ads are racist in nature, a Sony representative told us that the ads "have no other message or purpose" besides showing off the contrast between the two different PSP models. The "stunningly photographed" images in question are part of a "variety of different treatments" that were designed to show off the PSP's new look, the spokesperson said.

According tg GamesIndustry.biz, the ads are unlikely to appear outside of Holland.
