The PC demo for Prey has been out for days, but Microsoft still hasn't okayed the official release of the Xbox 360 version. Microsoft blogger Major Nelson responds to the outcry by "manag[ing] your expectations."
Xbox 360 players want their Prey
Responding to "a lot of chatter" concerning the delayed Prey demo for the Xbox 360, Microsoft employee Major Nelson explains on the company's Gamerscore blog that "getting a game [demo] through the certification process is very complex" and that game publishers and developers "are not fully aware of all the pieces involved in bringing content to the [Xbox Live] Marketplace."
When game publishers or developers promise Marketplace content by a certain date. . . I cringe."
-- Major Nelson on Gamerscore
As for the topic of the mysteriously missing Xbox 360 Prey demo, Nelson offers little reassurance that its release is imminent: "I don't have any information on the Prey demo...when I do...I'll post it as quickly as I can. Until then, let's all just take a step back and relax."
Honestly, I think Major Nelson is a great guy and I know he's devoted to the Xbox 360 fans, but I think he comes across as kind of an a-hole in this particular blog post. Read it for yourself.
Is it just me? "This blog is not my full time job, so I can't sit here all day long and respond to comments and respond individually to each of you. I just don't have time." Kind of jerky, IMO... but maybe he's just having a rough day.
