Criminal-minded gamers, listen up. A playable demo for Saints Row, THQ's answer to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, will land on Xbox Live Marketplace in early August.

The release date of the Saints Row playable demo, according to the official website, is August 1st.

We spoke with representatives from THQ, who confirmed several details about the playable demo. It will include the entire territory of Saints Row, one of the neighborhoods in the city of Stillwater (which is losely inspired by Chicago). The exact number of missions has yet to be determined, only that there will be "multiple missions."

The demo will be distributed through the Xbox Live Marketplace, and THQ has confirmed with us that it will be a free download.
