Ubisoft has unveiled new details about an upcoming expansion for the Xbox 360 version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. The expansion will hit in late June, and is set to include new maps, new weapons, and new play modes.
Ubisoft has issued an update detailing all of the upcoming content, which is tenatively being called "Chapter 2." Most notably, the update will include four new Co-Op missions:
Coffee Plantation (Day), which is set on a Nicaraguan coffee processing facility. The map is "littered" with opportunities for cover.
Shipping Port (Evening), in which the Ghosts must stop a smuggler from bringing weapons into the country. Because the mission is set at night, there are plenty of opportunities for stealth.
River Depot (Dawn), a jungle-based map in which the Ghosts must take over a nearby warehouse from Rebel forces. Players must destroy the arms shipments and block the retreat of the Rebels.
Jungle Mine (Day) is the last mission in the four-part campaign, and is set deep in a Rebel-controlled mining facility. The ultimate goal is to eliminate the Rebel leader, but Ubisoft is promising that the twisty tunnels and multi-tiered design will make for "one of the more memorable missions in Ghost Recon history."
But that's not all. The expansion will also include five new weapons:
- SR-25 SD (a new silenced sniper rifle)
- M468 carbine (a new rifle with excellent power)
- M468/M320 (rifle with grenade-launcher attachment)
- AK-47 LMG (equipped with a massive 75-round mag)
- SCAR-H SV (superior for long-range shooting)
Also, eight "favorite" multiplayer maps have been re-mixed and re-lit for a different twist:
- Fishing Village (Dusk)
- Wharf (Late day)
- Old Town (Morning)
- Nowhere (Evening)
- Coffee Plantation (Evening)
- Shipping Port (Sunset)
- River Depot (Day)
- Jungle Mines (Evening)
The expansion pack will also include new character customization options, such as new camoflague models and character faces.
The pack is due out in "late June," but there's no word on the final price. More soon.
