We've heard the rumors that Bethesda was busy polishing off its first offiicial patch for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, so we went straight to the source: Bethesda.

It's true. Bethesda is set to release the patch for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions this week -- "most likely tomorrow," according to Bethesda representative Pete Hines.

The official patch will deal with many of the issued addressed in the PC beta patch, although Hines added that "additional things have been addressed since we put that out," which explains the delay between the beta patch and this final patch.

To prepare for the patch, which Bethesda hopes to launch on Tuesday, it's smart to read the full change log of the PC beta patch. Bethesda says this will give both Xbox 360 and PC owners a good idea of what to expect in the final patch.
