Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Beta Patch v1.1 Released

Bethesda has released the first "beta" patch for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and it contains some welcome fixes. Can an Xbox 360 version be far behind?

Bethesda Softworks today released a "beta" -- or unfinished -- version of a much-needed patch for its hit role-playing game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Though stopping short of releasing an official patch, the update should fix some outstanding issues related to the PC version of Oblivion; there's no word yet on an Xbox 360 update, but we're in contact with Bethesda and hope to hear back soon.

The v1.1 beta patch will fix a number of important issues related to crashes and performance. View the full change log here.

According to the patch's change log, Bethesda is "working diligently to incorporate as many updates as possible into the final version of the patch."

We'll keep you updated as the Oblivion patching situaton progresses.
