Kingdom Hearts II Sells 1 Million in 1 Month

Kingdom Hearts II hits record sales numbers in North America

Today Square announced that Kingdom Hearts II has sold over one million copies in North America in only its first four weeks on the market. It is already one of the top-selling games of 2006.

Kingdom Hearts II combines classic Disney characters and worlds into a new story with newfangled characters and environments. The original Kingdom Hearts still remains of the ten best-selling PS2 titles to date.

"Kingdom Hearts II has sold through one million units in just one-third the time of that of the original, proving that fans were waiting to get their hands on the sequel,... said president & COO of Square Enix, Inc. Daishiro Okada. "The winning combination of Disney and Square Enix has done it again and we couldn't be happier with the results."
