GameCube Price to Drop in Near Future

EB Games is gearing up to promote a Nintendo GameCube price drop

GameSpot has been tipped off by an EB Games employee that the GameCube is ready for another price drop. According to the source, marketing materials have been sent to EB Games locations in preparation for a drop in price.

The marketing materials included GameCuge posters and stickers that read "New Low Price", though a specific retail price was not disclosed. The GameCube price is currently set at $99.99, though we are expecting the price to drop by $20 to $79.99.

The drop comes in response to the PlayStation 2's retail lowering from $149 to $129. And with Wii right around the corner, GameCube support is at an all-time low.
