Rockstar announces final release date and new, low price point for Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on the PS2
It's official -- Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories will hit the PlayStation 2 on June 6th for $20 US.
Rockstar made the announcement yesterday, but offered little details about whether the PS2 version would see any improvements over its PSP predecessor. The announcement only says that the PS2 version will contain the "same story line and missions" as the PSP version.
Will the multiplayer mode make the jump? Will the graphics receive a boost? Will there be any extra Easter eggs or frills to make buying the PS2 port more palatable? In some ways, the new, lower price point suggests that Rockstar isn't planning on making any drastic improvements or enhancements. But nothing for certain yet -- we'll have to wait and see.
But one thing, at least, is for certain. GTA: Liberty City Stories is, according to Rockstar's announcement, the "all time" best-selling PSP game.
You weren't honestly surprised by that, were you?
