Ubisoft Announces Brothers in Arms Sequel for PS3, Next-Gen Systems

Ubisoft has officially revealed plans to bring the next iteration of Brothers in Arms to next-gen platforms

Pack up your compass and canteen; today Ubisoft officially announced Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, the next installment in the Brothers in Arms franchise. The third iteration of the World War II-themed shooter will release for next-generation platforms, including the PlayStation 3 and the PC.

The game will expand upon the squad-based combat from the previous games, as well as offer an entirely redesigned online component.

"With Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, Gearbox is investing everything to take next-generation gaming to an entirely new level," says Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software. "For Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway, the Unreal Engine 3 powers real next-generation graphics and the most intense, action-oriented recreation of true history ever offered as interactive entertainment."

While the press release mentioned a PS3 and PC version of the Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, there was no specific revealing of Xbox or Revolution versions, but we can only assume that they are included in the next-generation category.

I am so disappointed in yet another delay on this game. Why? Why not August? I've been waiting for this game all summer and watched a video online about Ubisoft excited to get this game out in August and then read not until Sept. If Ubisoft isn't sure when they want to get the game out, don't give a release date for it. I am really starting to loose interest in this game!
