Final Fantasy XII Earns Perfect Score From Famitsu

Final Fantasy XII is one of only six games to ever earn the honor

Revered Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu is notoriously tough on game reviews.

Only five games have ever scored a perfect 40 from the magazine: Soul Calibur, Nintendogs, The Legend of Zelda titles Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker, and Vagarant Story.

Add one more title to that list: Square Enix's much-delayed, hugely-anticipated RPG Final Fantasy XII. The marquee PS2 title goes on sale next week in Japan. And though there's no official word yet on a US release date, the sterling review in the latest issue of Famitsu should help eager Final Fantasy followers keep the faith a little while longer.
