EA's flagship shooter sees one-month delay
The bad news: the Xbox 360 version of EA's flagship shooter, Battlefield 2, has suffered a delay.
The good news: the delay is short--just under one month.
EA today confirmed that the Xbox 360 release of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat would be bumped from its original release date, March 15th, to April 11th. The company took pains to reassure fans that "the game is complete" and "in the final phases of testing."
In the announcement, EA notes that the delay wasn't for quality-control purposes, but to get the game in the "best possible launch window." EA is also promising to send playable code to industry reviewers "shortly."
The release also mentions that a playable multiplayer-only demo of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat will launch in mid-March. You'll be able to download it through the Xbox Live Marketplace.
