Zelda: Twilight Princess Offically Delayed to Late 2006

Nintendo's Fils-Aime announces the bad news on Spike TV's Game Head

Well, at least it's official.

Nintendo of America bigwig Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that the eagerly-anticipated The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess won't launch on the GameCube until "this fall," meaning late 2006. He made the statement on Spike TV's Game Head show.

The popular consensus was that the game was scheduled to come out sometime this spring.

Will the Zelda delay make Nintendo's Revolution launch, also scheduled for a late 2006 release, a more complicated affair? Or is Nintendo perhaps hoping to make the new Zelda game a key example of the Revolution's backward compatibility?
