Blockbuster: Resident Evil 4 Sells 3 Million, Capcom's Profits Quadruple

Resident Evil 4 officially earns mega-hit status as Capcom's profits surge

Resident Evil 4 is officially a mega-hit.

The latest entry in the famous action series has sold three million units on the Gamecube and PS2 worldwide, a number that will obviously increase when Resident Evil 4 hits the PC later this year. According to Capcom officials, all-time Resident Evil sales now hover around 30 million units worldwide.

What's more, Capcom's profits for 2005 apparently rose over 400% based on the success of the critically-acclaimed Resident Evil 4, excellent news for a company that has faced some struggles over the past few years.
