Fans of the Silent Hill series have much to be excited about, judging by this most recent trailer.
After countless years of disappointing game-to-movie translations--need we dredge of unpleasant memories of Street Fighter, House of the Dead, and Super Mario Brothers?--it looks like TriStar Pictures is taking the high road with Silent Hill .
The latest trailer for the upcoming film looks to be a spot-on translation of the first game, right down to the characters, the mannequin monsters, the pea-soup fog, and the creeping sense of dread. Fans will doubtlessly be intrigued by the film's lush visual style.
The film stars Sean Bean--Boromir from The Lord of the Rings films--as well as relative unknowns Laurie Holden and Radha Mitchell. The film was directed by filmmaker Christophe Gans, probably best known for Brotherhood of the Wolf (aka le Pacte des loups).
