Xbox 360 and PSP owners have some reason to celebrate.
Sort of.
In another example of the growing commercial influence of the video game industry, EA today announced that they have signed Olympic gold medalist Oscar De La Hoya to serve as the "face" of Fight Night Round 3. De La Hoya will serve as cover model and spokesperson, but only for the Xbox 360 and PSP versions of the game.
Fight Night Round 3 is a leading contender in 2006, particularly for the Xbox 360. The graphics in alpha builds have showed off amazing detail--a punch to the mug makes a fighter's face ripple in bone-breaking fashion. Ouch!
Fight Night Round 3 is scheduled to ship in February for the Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, and PSP.
