Animal Crossing DS a Smash Hit in Japan

Nintendo's virtual village game has a wildly successful launch overseas.

Media Create has released its latest weekly Japanese software sales charts for the week ending November 27, 2005. Top 100 sales were at 1,444,727 units, 145.3% of the last week's total and 188.8% of the weekly average. Animal Crossing: Wild World proved a major hit this week, selling over 325,000 units, and bolstering DS hardware sales as well.
