Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Gets Delayed 'til 2006

Looks like Take-Two has its work cut out for it this holiday.

The Xbox 360 has lost another key launch title--The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been delayed until at least February of 2006.

The confirmation comes straight from Take-Two's investor conference call and revised financial update. Yesterday, the publisher confirmed that Bethesda's next-gen RPG wouldn't make the Xbox 2005 launch, and that the developer needed more time to fine-tune the game.

This should come as great news to series fans, as the last playable build of the game suffered from major performance problems. With a little luck, the extra time will give the developers a chance to iron out the frame rate problems, which will ultimately result in a better game.
