Madden Tops August Games Sales

EA's best-selling football franchise continues to dominate US charts.

To no one's surprise, Madden is back on top. US NPD data for August revealed the PS2 version of EA Sports' Madden NFL 06 at the number one spot with about 2.2 million units sold to date, followed by the Xbox version at number two.

EA's latest college pigskin title, NCAA Football 06, snagged the third spot, with Ubisoft's Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike at number four. Nintendo's increasingly popular pet simulation Nintendogs - Dachshund & Friends for the DS capped off the top five, selling over 200,000 units in the US, moving toward one million worldwide.
