Battlefield 2 Sells One Million Units

The popular online war shooter franchise hits a milestone of six million units.

Digital Illusions (DICE) has announced that Battlefield 2 sold over one million units from its time of release to June 30, 2005--bringing the total franchise sales to six million.

"Digital Illusions' goal as a company is to develop strong brands that will continue to evolve for a number of years. Battlefield 2 has already received several awards which demonstrates we have managed to develop yet another high quality product," said Patrick S?derlund, the CEO of Digital Illusions.

Console versions are slated for release later this year.
