Star Wars: Battlefront II to launch in Fall with 'Revenge of the Sith' DVD

Star Wars franchise prepares to make multi-platform blitzkrieg.

LucasArts has announced that Star Wars: Battlefront II, the sequel to the successful online shooter, will hit stores on November 1st. That just so happens to be the same day that the 'Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" DVD goes on sale.

What's more, the 'Revenge of the Sith' DVD will contain a unique Xbox-only preview of Battlefront II, which will allow Xbox owners to try out two levels in the game.

This coordinated multi-platform blitz marks a new step for the Star Wars franchise; in theory, 'Revenge of the Sith' is the last installment in the mega-popular movie series. But after November 1st, Star Wars fans can still look forward to seeing an original TV series set in the Star Wars universe. That series has been rumored to air in late 2006 or 2007.
