Castlevania: Lament of Innocence

Ever since Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow was revealed to the gaming press last month, rumors have gone around that Konami's great vampire-hunting series will be making a return to consoles more sooner than later. Those rumors can officially be considered confirmed now: Konami of America announced today that Castlevania will be released for the PlayStation 2 in America this fall.

Although Konami released zero new information about the game in today's press release, the PS2 Castlevania will be the first title in the series since the N64 era to feature full 3D graphics. (Before series fans shudder in horror, though, we should note that producer Koji Igarashi and his team at KCE Tokyo wasn't involved with the two N64 Castlevania games at all. So chin up.)

The PS2 Castlevania will make its debut at the Electronic Entertainment Expo on May 14. We'll be there to cover it, of course, so make sure you're logged in to GamePro.com around then, all right? Good.
