DS Rocks the Japanese Sales Charts

Nintendo's handheld continues to rake in sales, bolstered by its popular software lineup.

Media Create released the latest Japanese hardware charts covering the week ending June 19th, 2005. The Nintendo DS continues to top the charts, and the handheld console hit a milstone of one million units in annual sales. Sales of the DS hardware have been driven by its popular software, which includes Nintendogs and DS Training for Adults.

Nintendo DS: 31,376 (Annual: 1,003,578)
PlayStation 2: 25,526 (Annual: 1,041,547)
PlayStation Portable: 20,416 (Annual: 957,308)
Game Boy Advance SP: 9,727 (Annual: 356,339)
GameCube: 2,183 (Annual: 119,702)
Game Boy Advance: 475 (Annual: 12,974)
Xbox: 150 (Annual: 8,029)
