Dynasty Warrior 5 Tops Slow Selling Week in Japan

Koei's money maker continues to be a top seller in Japan.

Media Create has released it weekly software sales charts covering the week ending March 13th, 2005. Top 100 sales totaled 562,768 units, 84.0% of last week's total, and 62.5% of the weekly average. Dynasty Warriors continues to take the number one spot--but the momentum has been steadily dropping with sales at 62,000 units. Romance of the Three Kingdoms (also by Koei) saw a mediocre debut, showing that its venerable strategy game has much less of a mass market appeal than the Dynasty Warriors franchise.

Despite solid sales of the PSP, software sales has been sluggish--indicating the appeal of the handheld's media functionality.
