Activision announces the follow-up to the hit PC game.
In a press release today Activision announced that DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil was officially in development.Developed by Nerve Software and id Software the expansion pack picks up where the main game left off. After fighting back the invading hordes of Hell, you find yourself in possession of an artifact that contains the powers of that demonic dimension and the denziens want it back.
The expansion pack will see the return of the ever-popular double-barreled shotgun as well as upping the multiplayer limit from four to eight in all new maps.
"DOOM 3 defines first-person cinematic action, and the expansion pack continues right where we left off--with a terrifying atmosphere, a new story and one of the most classic weapons ever, the double-barreled shotgun," states Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software. "Now that fans have survived the horrors and edge of your seat action of the original, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil delivers players deeper into the heart of the UAC to uncover new secrets and technology used to destroy the demon force that's Hell-bent on destroying you."
Nerve Software is best known for its work on the Xbox game Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War as well as the multiplayer component of the PC title Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
