Yet Another Delay for Half-Life 2?

EB Games tells its preorder customers that the projected ship date has been moved back.

Gamer's eager "release it already" anticipation for Half-Life 2 may be let down yet again, as EB Games has sent an e-mail to Half-Life 2 pre-order customers saying that the game will be pushed back to November.

"We are writing to let you know that we have changed the projected ship date for Half-Life 2 to November, 1st 2004. The publisher did not provide us with a specific date so this is our best estimate only and should not be considered firm. We will update this date again as we receive new information," read the foreboding e-mail.

Since the message says that the publisher did not provide a "specific date," it implies that a general date was given, prompting the push back of the projected launch.

Half-Life 2 has seen a bumpy road to its debut, with the sensational delay of the game last year due to hackers stealing the source code. While a holiday release is very likely at this point, the silence from Valve surrounding the game means anything goes--including further delays.
