Resident Evil 4 Release Set to 2005

Capcom confirms rumors that the game won't see the light of day during the holiday season.

After much rumors and speculation, Capcom today confirmed that Resident Evil 4 is seeing a 2005 release. The official date is now January 11, 2005, and will retail for $49.99.

The news comes as little surprise, as online retailers were fumbling the release dates between March and February 2005. Capcom has emphasized that the release time frame has always been winter 2004, and that the January release is not a delay but a finalizing of the date.
