Final Fantasy XI Expansion Release Date Set

Chains of Promathia hits retailers September.

Square Enix announced that the Chains of Promathia expansion pack will ship to retailers on September 21, 2004. The expansion will feature new towns and areas that were alluded to in the original game, and reveal some of the mysteries of Vana'diel.

Published by Square Enix, Chains of Promathia will be available for both the PlayStation 2 and PC, with a simultaneous launch in Japan, North America and Europe. The game carries a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Fantasy XI boasts over 500,000 players and 1.2 million active characters in Japan and North America.
