Square Enix announces that the game may be pushed back till next year.
Square Enix announced on their official Japanese site that Final Fantasy XII will be delayed. Originally scheduled for a summer 2004 release, the company now has adjusted the release to "between winter 2004 and spring 2005."As any news of delay, the reasons given are general, with Square Enix citing the need to enhance the quality of the game. "To provide customers with a product they can be satisfied with, we are working towards improving the quality [of the game], and have decided to change the release schedule," said the company in its official press release.
The delay will likely push back the US release date, though one hasn't been announced as of yet. Expect more details about Final Fantasy XII to be revealed at E3, held next week.
