Sony Announces God of War for PlayStation 2

Clash of the Titans meets Heavy Metal magazine.

Today at a press event in Santa Monica, Sony Computer Entertainment of America announced a new game called God of War for the PlayStation 2. Developed by SCE's Santa Monica studios, God of War has been in development for 2 years, and is currently slated for Q1 2005 release. The third person action game drops the player into the role of an ex-Spartan warrior who is on a quest to kill Aries, the God of War in Greek mythology. The developer described the game as "what Clash of the Titans would look like if it was done in Heavy Metal magazine."
