Maxis Moves to EA's Redwood Shores Office

Developer responsible for the Sims franchise moves to the publisher's headquarters.
Maxis, the makers of the Sims series including Sim City and The Sims, will move most of its staff to Electronic Arts' headquarters in Redwood Shores, CA. Based in Walnut Creek, CA, a small portion of the 300+ staff will remain to work on a project with Sims creator Will Wright. Wright will be splitting his time between the two locations, which are only 30 miles apart.EA recently announced that The Sims 2 was delayed until July 2004.
