Parents lament how video games prevent kids from getting in shape. But not anymore.
Clark Bartram, the owner of a gym in San Marcos, California, has devised a novel way to keep children of the gym?s members entertained while also giving them a workout in the process. Bartram, an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer who owns International Fitness, invested in a number of lifecycles that power PlayStation consoles?kids have to keep pedaling to keep play games. Expect calves of steel if you play a game like Final Fantasy VII.?Kids between 8 and 14 don't want to be thrown into what I call the 'stinky diaper pit', littered with small children while their parents are working out," said Bartram. "That's why I treat them the way they want to be treated.?
It is not yet known how popular the lifecycles are, though it wouldn't be surprising if children preferred to let fossil fuels do the work for them.
