Haitian Group Dissatisfied with Take Two's Apology

Haitian American Coalition demands game be removed from shelves.

The Haitian American Coalition, citing the violent and supposedly racist content in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, have demanded that the game be removed from stores and Internet sites, saying that the games corrupt young minds. Although they conceded that it was "nice" for Rockstar officials to issue an apology and remove the "kill Haitians" dialogue from the game, they think it is not enough.

The group said it will pressure the New York-based Rockstar to stop selling the year-old game by protesting outside retailers, spreading the word to parents about the immoral contents of the game and lobbying federal and state lawmakers. Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist is investigating the game for possible violation of state hate-crime laws, and a protest is planned at a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Boynton Beach, Florida.
