Koei unveils more details on the tactical action successor to Dynasty Warriors 4
Koei has officially announced that Samurai Warriors for the PlayStation 2 will be headed to our shores. The game, called Sengoku Musou, is a Japanese themed-tactical action game that plays similar to Koei's Dynasty Warrior series. Omega Forces, the developers of Dynasty Warriors, will also be developing this game."Samurai Warriors offers bold new interpretations not only of Feudal Japan, but also of the Tactical Action genre," said Amos Ip, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing for Koei Corporation. "Our development team has taken the techniques they have mastered with the Dynasty Warriors series, and combined them with new creative energies to realize an experience filled with refined story-telling, epic battles, and breath-taking visuals."
Koei has unveiled bits of new information since our First Look. You will be able to pick from a number of famous historical warriors, each with their own scenarios that have over 500 variations. The game will also feature randomly generated indoor environments full of traps like floor spikes, circular blades, and false staircases. You will be able to create more specialized warlords than the Dynasty Warrior series, with a set of mini-games determining your initial attributes.
The game is set for release in March of 2004.
