New Pac-Man Vs. Game Offered for Free for the Nintendo GameCube

Play head-to-head against Gameboy Advance players

Nintendo and Namco Hometek will offering the Pac-Man Vs. game for free, bundled with upcoming Gamecube games. Starting in December, people can receive the free copy by purchasing Pac-Man World 2, I-Ninja, or R: Racing Evolution, on December 2, 9 and 4, respectively.

Pac-Man vs. will enable Gamecube and GBA players to compete head-to-head using a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance cable. One player controls Pac-Man on the Game Boy Advance, while up to three other players on the GameCube control the Ghosts. If a player's Ghost catches Pac-Man, those players swap controllers and the game continues. Whoever reaches the score cap first wins the game.

Nintendo's famous developer Shigeru Miyamoto worked closely with the game's original creator, Toru Iwatani of Namco, on the project. "We were very excited to work with Nintendo and Mr. Miyamoto to bring Pac-Man vs. to life on both the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance," says Nobuhiro Kasahara, president and chief operating officer at Namco Hometek Inc. "What better way to utilize the exciting new feature of connectivity than with the classic gaming character, Pac-Man."
