Mortal Kombat Some Kinda Hit

Deadly Alliance breaks the two million mark. Heavens.

Midway Games announced today that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, the bloody console fighter they released last winter, is officially their first multi-million seller in ages?the game has sold over two million copies across all platforms and regions in the eight months since it launched. "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance took gamers by storm, and these numbers prove the franchise is continuing to define the fighting genre," said vice president Helene Sheeler in a release.

MK:DA is one of the few feathers in Midway's cap these days, as they attempt to make a splash in the console business after a disappointing 2002. Although a new console MK has yet to be announced, Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition is scheduled to hit the Game Boy Advance this fall.
