Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour is coming.
In a press release today, Electronic Arts announced that they're working on an expansion pack for Command & Conquer Generals, their latest PC real-time strategy game and (by most testimonials) one of the best titles the genre's seen. Tentatively titled Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour, the add-on's under development at EA's Los Angeles studio and is due to hit the PC platform this fall.Zero Hour will include all the usual extras you'd expect from a PC expansion pack. Fifteen new single-player missions are in the works, sending you off to destroy U.S. fleets in the Mediterranean Sea, quashing splinter cells (no pun intended) in Cairo, infiltrating intelligence buildings, and deploying special forces to capture those weapons of mass destruction that seem so elusive in real life. New weapons (including a U.S. Specter gunship and GLA combat motorcycles) are available all around, of course, and there's also a new "Generals Challenge" mode that lets you choose one of nine armies, defeat nine computer-controlled generals, and then use the defeated army units in online matches.
"The Generals Challenge mode adds an exciting new dimension to the RTS play experience," said Mark Skaggs, executive producer of the game at EALA. "Players will have a host of new units to play with and new strategies to learn as they battle against the top Generals in the world."
