TVs, Theaters Shrouded in Eternal Darkness

Nintendo's horror game could hit the airwaves soon.

The daily Variety newspaper reported today that production company Hypnotic has bought the exclusive TV and feature-film rights from Nintendo for Eternal Darkness; Sanity's Requiem, a GameCube-only horror game that became a cult hit among GamePro staffers in 2002.

The deal gives Hypnotic (probably best known as the outfit behind the Terry Tate advertising campaign for Reebok) the rights to make movies and/or TV shows based on Silicon Knights' thriller. The production outfit will take care of development, financing, production and distribution; no details on what sort of project they have in mind have been announced.
