AD&D has never been more accessible.
Interplay released some more screenshots today from the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II, a hack 'n slasher from Black Isle Studios that's due to hit both consoles in time for Christmas.Just like its predecessor, the new Dark Alliance will borrow its gameplay from three primary sources: the atmosphere of PC RPGs, the control and pace of console role-players, and the monsters and items from the third edition of the Dungeons & Dragons rulebook. The changes will be more evolutionary than revolutionary--you'll get to choose from five customizable heroes this time, the storyline branches on occasion, and new weapons and armor can be forged by your character if you've got the right raw materials. The two-player cooperative mode will also make a return appearance--too bad it still hasn't been expanded to four players on the Xbox.
Stay tuned for more info soon.
