A special GBA SP and a spooktacular case in Japan.
This week's issue of Famitsu magazine in Japan has our first look at some of the premium items Konami is preparing for buyers of the Japanese version of Boktai, a wacky sun-sensing action RPG that happens to be the latest title from Metal Gear director Hideo Kojima. The game's coming out July 17 in Japan, and Konami's got a weird limited-package in the works for that day?a copy of Boktai packed with a "Django Red & Black"-model Game Boy Advance SP. Red and black? So there're two models? No, not quite?the system's outer shell is metallic red, but the inner shell (the bit with the screen and the buttons) is matte black. Spooky. This Boktai limited-edition package will go on sale July 17 in Japan for 16,800 yen (about $143). If you can't quite justify that expense, then all isn't lost?the first printing of Boktai will come with a coffin-shaped case that's got room for a GBA (or SP) and two cartridges. Once the cases are sold out, though, they're gone?be sure to ask your importer right away if you think you're interested.
Konami's always full of surprises, eh? That's the Boktai cartridge sticking out of the SP, by the way?it's clear so the solar sensor inside can do its thing, so to speak.
