Some Unreal Tournament 2004 Screens

Aha! Finally something solid on Epic's latest.

After a bit of a lull, Epic Games sent out a small batch of screens today from Unreal Tournament 2004, the newest in their series of plotless-yet-intensely-fun first person shooters. This new game, another co-production between Epic and developer Digital Extremes, is scheduled to hit the PC marketplace this fall.

Once UT2004 comes out, you will very likely never touch your Unreal Tournament 2003 game disc ever again...and not just because all of the UT2003 content will be included for free, either. 2004 will include two brand-new game types?Assault Mode, a single-player oriented game that lets players fly land, air and spacefaring vehicles as they challenge story scenarios, and Onslaught Mode, a large-scale multiplayer battle packed with new weapons and modes of transportation. The game's set to ship with six Assault missions and nine Onslaught maps... in addition to that, though, Epic's including 20 never-before-seen maps for all the other game modes, including a few Digital Extremes designed especially for "hardcore" UT players.

We'll have more info on this fine PC title as the release date nears, so have patience.
